Meet Maribel Coco Perez, 62 years old, Spanish roots, married for 35 years, mother of 3 and grandmother of almost 3. She loves to eat, hike, watch movies and dance Flamenco. The common thread in her life, both private and work related, is to make sure that no one is excluded.
Maribel’s training in sports and art & culture, laid the foundation for her to use sports and art and culture in her work as a means to support people in development processes. During the last 15 years, from Maribel’s work at the language, arts and heritage organization Rozet, have been involved in various European projects that developed methods or instruments to make invisible skills visible and valued. One of these project is ECLN (European Collective Learning Network). This project resulted in the development of CLOCK .
7 years ago Maribel entered the CLOCK process to obtain the level 7 (Sector Expert Award) and Peer Reviewer certificate. A professional development award in the creative and cultural industry.
“This was and still is a fantastic experience and journey where I get to know beautiful inspiring, like-minded people with whom I now work very closely to continue spreading and anchoring the ideas of CLOCK in the Netherlands and Europe.
In my work in ‘team education’ I contribute to raising the awareness of colleagues that skills acquired outside school are valuable and must be made visible to contribute to talent development and career guidance. Those skills acquired through learning in practice are now part of a toolkit used for formal primary education
In sharing my ‘non-formal’ network I include and link role models in programs within secondary special education, which creates a different scope and broadens the view of education.”
